The tournament series DERBY Stars von Morgen was created to promote young talented riders and horses and to facilitate their entry into Grand Prix sport. After a successful first season in 2022, in which the young talents were able to convince with harmonious rides, the next round will take place in 2023. It is eagerly awaited who will emerge victorious from the final in Münster this year. Last season, the title went to Rodolf Widemann and his 11-year-old Westphalian Revenant in Bavaria.

Within the framework of DERBY Stars of Tomorrow, young riders and horses are now being promoted nationwide. The new tournament format has evolved from two successful dressage series: The DERBY Dressage Cup, which offered young dressage riders under 25 years of age the opportunity to gain experience at Intermédiaire II level, but concentrated on the northern part of Germany, and the renowned tournament series Stars of Tomorrow, which promoted young riders and horses, but focused on southern Germany.

After the tournament concept of DERBY Stars von Morgen was so well received last season, the qualifying stations could be expanded to 14. In addition, there have been small changes to the invitation to compete. All riders under 25 years of age and horses between eight and twelve years of age without a 1st-5th place in the Grand Prix are still eligible to compete. For riders born in 1997 and older, who compete with 11-12 year old horses, there is the new rule that they may only be placed in the 1st-5th place in Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special or Grand Prix Freestyle once during the FN eligibility period.

There is always an entry test and a qualification test per show event. In order to be allowed to compete in the qualifier, the rider must first complete the qualifier with a score of at least 60%. All riders who subsequently complete the qualification test with a score of 65% or more are eligible to compete in the respective semi-final. The best eight riders in each of the two semi-finals secure their ticket for the Grand Final in Münster - and so the 16 most successful pairs in the series will compete there for the title of .

As in the previous year, the final will take place within the framework of the AGRAVIS Cup in Münster, Westphalia. In addition to the overall winner, a special prize will be awarded for the best young horse and the best U25 rider.

The DERBY Stars von Morgen tournament series gives U25 riders the rare opportunity to compete with established stars of the dressage scene. This has a very special appeal for the young athletes. HKM likes the concept and therefore sponsors winning blankets for the winners of all dressage competitions of the Derby Stars von Morgen.
