About the Lebenshilfe Nordhorn cooperation

Fairness, responsibility and diversity are values that are very important to us. Therefore, it is only natural for us to do something for inclusion in our region - we achieve this through a very successful cooperation with Lebenshilfe Nordhorn.
We at HKM have been working hand in hand with Lebenshilfe Nordhorn for many years and are very happy about this cooperation. Lebenshilfe Nordhorn has been supporting people with disabilities and their families in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim since 1963. It helps children and adults with disabilities to lead independent lives and offers a comprehensive range of services for this purpose, from early intervention and integrative day-care centres for children to assisted living and inpatient care and workshops with manufacturing operations.
HKM is supported by the Lebenshilfe employees with packaging and set-up work and we have entrusted them with the packaging of our HKM horse treats, among other things.
The work processes were designed in such a way that they can be easily carried out by people with disabilities. One example is the weight recognition by traffic light principle: All treats are first portioned in a bucket and weighed. A traffic light shows the staff whether the weight is correct: If the traffic light is red or yellow, the buckets are overfilled. If the traffic light is green, the weight is correct. In this way, people with disabilities can participate in everyday work, gain independence and be supported according to their individual strengths.
